McGookey earned her MFA and PhD from Western Michigan University. She has taught courses in literature and creative
writing at Hope College, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Western Michigan University. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she has lived in
Michigan all her life, except for one year when she lived in Paris. Her work appears in the anthologies
